Invented Instrument:
The dataflow diagram on the right shows the invented instrument. First, the basic sound file is sent to the pan. The pan also takes in another parameter. It takes an LFO, a sine wave at 1 cycle per second in combination with a gradient line to make the LFO speed up. The line is also based on the duration of the instrument.
The Composition:
The composition starts off with this invented instrument. It plays for the first half of the song. It sounds really good with headphones on so you can hear the panning between the left speaker and right speaker. From that a grainular synthesis of a clip of MGMT's kids is played with a very interesting sound. Then a pause with a little kick of a drum. Following this is an interesting piece created with sound warp (sndwarp). It takes in the audio file from the first function and taking the previous and inital harmonic it generates this crazy warp sound.
